I’m excited to welcome two new blog contributors, operations managers Kate Graney and Kerstin Proctor! Having joined our team as operations interns in December 2020, Kate and Kerstin were key contributors to the logistical planning and execution of our almond pollination hive grading strategy.
Both fast and eager learners, Kate and Kerstin excelled in a variety of roles during pollination season, including manually inspecting hives, working through the night to capture IR images, and coordinating with customers and our back-end team to deliver reports on time. Among other duties, Kate and Kerstin now lead our data collection team, regularly gaining hands-on bee experience and providing valuable feedback on product development.
Kate and Kerstin’s posts will feature topics related to their unique areas of expertise. As readers, you’ll enjoy new perspectives and thoughtful discussion on honeybee pollination and beyond. Kate will cover topics like impacts of biodiversity on pollination, social topics in beekeeping, and pollination in Europe. Kerstin will explore the impacts of extreme weather on pollination, tips on bee stewardship for non-beekeepers, and pollination in Australia.
Stay tuned for their first posts!
